Software Help & Directions

Software Support

The Technology Office supports the operation of all software purchased and installed by the District. The Technology Office supports the internal operation of all District and school software. Each school has a designated software administrator or trainer(s) for various software programs at each school. Check with your Technology Contact or principal for this information.

Software that is installed on workstations other than the District approved and installed software is the responsibility of each school and/or location. If any of these software packages create incompatibility issues, they will be uninstalled. All data should be stored on the H: drive in the user's directory that is on the network. If a workstation has to be re-imaged, all data stored on the C: drive will be lost.

Installation of Software on User Workstation

Faculty and Staff who have signed the Teacher Workstation Policy may install programs to the local drives (c:) of district machines provided:

The school principal has approved in writing the software prior to installation.

The user has determined that the software is compatible with the hardware on which it is installed. (computer speed, RAM, hard disk space, operating system)

The user is confident in the ability to load the software correctly.

The software is loaded only on the computer's hard drive (c: drive).

If a computer problem arises that requires that the hard drive of the computer be reimaged, both the software installation and data will be lost. The responsibility for reinstallation of non-supported software lies with the staff person who installed the software.

If the installation of non-supported software creates a problem with district supported software, the non-supported software will be removed from the computer.

The District inventories all software on networked computers.

District technology support for the software will not be provided.
