Gerald Reeves

Coach Reeves holds B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Education from the University of South Carolina. He began his teaching career at Dillon High School in 1968.His teaching responsibilities included the biological and physical sciences (grades 9-12). For the Varsity Football Team, he coaches the offensive backs and the defensive line. In 2000, he served as an Assistant Coach for the South team at the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association North-South All Star Football Game. Coach Reeves is married to the former Jean Wilson, a Dillon native, who teaches special education at Latta High School. They have one child, Karen, who graduated from Clemson University and is living and working in Greenville, SC.



Jason Gunter

Coach Gunter is a 1969 graduate of Morris College. While at Morris College, he lettered in football, baseball, and track each year in 1966-1969. He was All Conference Defensive end and Defensive Captain in 1968. Coach Gunter attends Manning Baptist Church, Dillon, SC where he served as Superintendent of Sunday school. He is very active in Masonry. He is P.M. of Latta Lodge 86, King of Solomon Chapter #3, Past Commander-in-Chief of McDonald Consistory #226, and Captain on the Creation Team of Bejilah Temple #163, Standard Bearer of Martin L. King Jr Commandery #14.

Coach Gunter is active in other civic affairs and education associations such as the DCEA, SCEA, and NEA. He is an Assistant Principal at Dillon High School. This is his 40th year of coaching, all in the same system. He is married to Betty Gunter and is the father of two children, Eric Gunter, and the late J.T. Gunter.

Robbie Brown

Coach Brown began his coaching career in Dillon as Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at J.V. Martin Jr. High in 1988. His teams compiled a record of 53-17 while winning 5 conference championships and going undefeated 3 times in his 11 years as coach. He served as coach of the secondary and wide receivers as varsity assistant at Latta High School in 1999. He returned to Dillon as the weightlifting teacher at Dillon High School in 2000. He is the offensive coordinator for the Wildcats. He is a 1981 graduate of Rowland High School and a 1986 graduate of Pembroke State University. He received his Master's Degree in Sports Management in May of 2005Coach Brown is married to Kathy Brown and they have two children, Taylor and Heath.

Coach Famon Whitfield

Coach Whitfield is the head junior varsity football coach at Dillon High School; he has been in the coaching business for 40 years. He has help guide the junior varsity football team to numerous conference championships. Coach Whitfield is a graduate of Westside High School in Anderson, SC and Morris College where he was active in numerous student activities. Coach Whitfield is a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Friendship Baptist Church in Dillon; he is also actively involved in community and educational activities. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

Coach Whitfield is married to the former Claretha McRae and they are the parents of two sons Trey (Natalie) and Keith and the grandparents of Nilah and Famon IV.

Kevin Roberts

Coach Roberts is a 1995 graduate of Dillon High School where he played for Coach Hayes as an offensive lineman on the 1994 Upper State Champion football team. He also lettered in basketball in 1993. He is a 2000 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Retail Management. He teaches Business Education at Dillon High School. He is beginning his fourth year on the Wildcat Staff. Coach Roberts coaches the offensive line on the Junior Varsity team. He is also the weightlifting coach in the off-season program.

Volunteer Coach Randy McCollum

Coach McCallum is a 1982 graduate Dillon High School. He worked at Davis of Dillon for twelve years. Coach McCallum is now self-employed. He is a former Dixie Youth Baseball Umpire from 1984- 1992, a vlunteer Football Rec Referee from 1998- 2003, and a volunteer high school football coach since 2003.

Gregg Dozier

Coach Dozier is beginning his 15th year in Dillon. He was an assistant coach for the junior varsity for 6 years and will begin his 9th year as the defensive back coach for the varsity. This is his 15th year as the head varsity baseball coach. His teams won region championships in 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2008. The 2004, 2006 and 2008 baseball teams won lower state championships. The 2007 team finished the season as the lower state runner-ups. He is a native of Mullins SC, and received a B.S. Degree in Physical Education from Coastal Carolina University and a Masters Degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne Alabama. He teaches Physical Education and Drivers Education at Dillon High School. Coach Dozier is married to San Dozier, also a native of Mullins. They are proud parents of two daughters, Kelsey and Karlee. They are all members of The First Baptist Church in Mullins S.C.


Johnny Dew

Johnny Dew, who began his coaching career with the Dillon Wildcats in 1978, is the assistant JV football coach and head girls' basketball coach. Coach Dew's 32 years of coaching experience has included football, baseball, girls' basketball and athletic administration. He was the head coach of South All-Star baseball in the North-South All-Star game in June 1996 which was played at Sarge Frye Field. He coached South All-Star Girls' basketball in the North-South All-Star game March 24, 2001 at Winthrop University. Coach Dew was Head Coach of the South All-Star Girls' Basketball in the North-South All-Star Game March 17, 2007 at Winthrop University. The South Team won 69-51. Dew is a 1972 graduate of Latta High School having lettered four years in football and baseball and being named All-State in football. He played baseball at Francis Marion University and graduated in 1976. He attended Salisbury University (Maryland) as a graduate assistant in baseball and earned a M.Ed. in 1978. He also holds a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Pembroke State University. Coach Dew will now hold the office of 1st Past President of the SCACA.Coach Dew served as the President of the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association during the 2006-2007 school year. Dew was named the 2002-2003 Assistant Coach of the Year for the S.C. Athletic Coaches Association. and National Assistant Coach of the Year. He was an Assistant Coach of the North-South Football Game played December 10, 2006. He is a member of the National Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a certified lay speaker and lay speaker instructor, and member of the Latta United Methodist Church. He is married to his high school sweetheart, the former Rhonda Grant, who is County Manager of the Dillon County Department of Juvenile Justice. They have two children, Megan, who has graduated from Columbia College and has obtained a Masters from USC. His son John Berry graduated from Coastal Carolina and is a member of the Dillon Coaching Staff.


Alan McLaurin

Alan is a 1990 graduate of Dillon High School where he played football under Coach Paul Chapman as a running back. He as a letterman in football, basketball, and golf. He is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a BA in history. He teaches history at J.V. Martin. He is beginning his thirteenth year as the receiver's coach. He is also the Varsity Golf Coach.

John Berry Dew

John Berry is a 2002 graduate of Dillon High School where he played football and Baseball. He was a lettermen in Football and Baseball.He was Captain of the Football Team his senior year. He was an All Region and All State as a catcher for the Wildcat Baseball Team. John Berry was a starter at catcher for two years for the Erskine College Baseball Team. He is beginning his second year as the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Baseball Team and Assistant Coach for the Junior Varsity Football Team. He coaches the receivers and the defensive backs for the J.V. Football Team. John Berry graduated form Costal Carolina University and is currently teaching Social Studies at Dillon High School.



Marty McIntyre

Coach McIntyre is beginning his first year with the Wildcats and 18th year of coaching overall. He is a native of Dillon and a graduate of Dillon High School. He began his coaching career in 1991 at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, SC, and he later spent seven years each at Marlboro County High School and Marion High School before coming back to Dillon. He will be coaching the linebackers for the varsity team and working with the strength and conditioning program.

He received a B.A. from Wofford College in 1990, and a M.A.T. from Winthrop University in 1994. He will be teaching Math at Dillon High School.

He is married to Salley Huggins McIntyre, and they have three children: Davis (8), Mattie (3) and Lacy (1). He and his family are members of Main Street United Methodist Church in Dillon.


Dolores Conn

Coach Conn teaches Sunday School at and is a member of the Open Door Community Church in Dillon, SC She also spends her summers working at Camp Pinehill Baptist Retreat in Bennettsville, SC.
