Mr. Rodney Cook, Principal
Dear
Parent,
My
hope is that you and your family are well and have been safe during this
pandemic. As you are fully aware, this
school year will be distinctly different than any other in years past. However, I am confident in saying that the
beginning of school may not be “normal,” but our learning will not only
continue, it will thrive.
In
response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been some major restructuring of
the school schedule to include different modalities of instruction. We have
planned for two different opportunities for students to learn during the
2020-2021 school year- Virtual or Hybrid. Your child’s schedule, Virtual or
Hybrid, was based upon your preference. All students will begin classes
this school year on Tuesday, September 8 with both Virtual and Hybrid beginning
at 7:50 am each day.
Students
who opted for virtual classes will begin promptly at 7:50 each morning.
Students will complete four content classes, one elective class and a lunch
period each day. Students are required to login each class during the day, at
the assigned time, and complete the daily assignment(s), or they will be marked
absent for that particular day/class. Again, students will be required to stay logged
in for the duration of the period and complete the daily lesson, or they will
be marked absent. Classes will end each day at 2:45.
Students
who opted for Hybrid classes will also begin promptly at 7:50 each morning.
Students will complete Success For All (SFA) reading program, four content
classes, one elective and a lunch period. There will be two cohorts offered for
our hybrid students, Cohort A and Cohort B.
Cohort A students are required to attend school on Monday and Wednesday
and will have assignments to complete at home on Tuesday and Thursday. Cohort B
will attend school on Tuesday and Thursday and have assignments to complete at
home on Monday and Wednesday. All hybrid students, Cohort A and B, will be
required to log in virtually on Fridays at home. Friday’s schedule is
consistent with the in-school schedule except SFA will not be offered virtually.
Cohort A and B will be required to log on their tablet every morning at 7:50 am.
Once logged on students will complete four content classes, an elective and a
lunch period throughout the day. These
students are required to stayed logged in for the duration of the period and
complete all daily assignments or they will be marked absent.
Students
whose last name begins with the following letter will be required to attend
school on the following days:
