Dear Parents:
The holiday season is upon us!
We are already into the 2nd nine-weeks. The last day of the 2nd nine-weeks is January 13th and report cards will be issued January 21st. December 20th is a half day for students / faculty and is also our last day of school before the winter break. Students will return to school on Monday, January 6th.
The first nine weeks was filled with many accolades of accomplishments related to academic and student sponsored activities. Students who earned straight A’s and satisfactory for conduct were treated to an all expensed paid trip to Check E Cheese for our Straight “A” Trip this nine weeks. Parents and community members were invited to enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal on November 6th and 7th with their child(ren). We continue to reward students with prizes and certificates who win our weekly “Multiplication Survivor Contest” which is for third grade students and our “Writing to be a Winner” essay contest for grades 5K – 3rd. We also recognize students weekly who demonstrate PAWSITIVE behavior with prizes and certificates. Many students were inducted into our 200 CLUB HALL OF FAME for scoring 200 or better on their NWEA MAP assessments. Some of our 2nd and 3rd grade gentlemen were also inducted into our Stewart Heights’ Knights Club.
The months of November and December will be very busy! During the next couple of weeks, we will administer the NWEA MAP assessment again in Reading and Math for students in 5K – 3rd grades. These tests, coupled with teacher observations and grades, help give us an idea of how our students are performing.
Some dates to remember are: Weekly Friday Activities: Wildcat Pride Prizes, Writing contest, Multiplication Survivor Contest, Reading Counts, and MEOW Mart every other Friday. Stewart Heights Knights’ club members meet weekly to discuss mentoring and modeling positive behaviors for the student body.
