Mr. Rodney Cook, Principal

Dear Parent/Guardian,

First, let me say I hope you and your family are safe and healthy as you read this letter. I want to thank you all for the support and patience shown during the 2019-2020 school year. We had successes and some challenges, yet despite all, we continued the work that had to be done to ensure the safety and educational needs of our students.  Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we had to adjust, like you, to the drastic changes in life during the last few months. I am extremely appreciative of our students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators for their positivity, flexibility and resilience during these trying times.  We also appreciate the ongoing support of our parents and community members as we work together to enrich the lives of all our students.  Together, we truly do make a difference.
Our goal was to provide continuous educational opportunities and practice for students while schools were closed but also to eliminate as much stress as possible for students, parents, and teachers. While it is our responsibility to continue to educate our children, we also want to compassionately take into consideration the variety of difficulties that our families and employees are enduring during this time.

We had successes and some challenges, yet despite all, we continued the work that had to be done to ensure the safety and educational needs of our students.

One of our main focus points for our educators and students during the 2019-2020 school year has been “Nothing Less Than Our Best.” This mentality reveals our ability to learn and grow especially during challenging times. Due to this experience, I believe we all will be stronger when we come out on the other side of the COVID-19 Pandemic!

Congratulations to our students for completing another year in their educational journey.  Our eighth-grade students are ready to move to High School – we have done as much as we can do, and it is time for them to explore all that high school can offer them. We have prepared them for this new adventure, and I know that you will continue to support them as they move on through their educational years.  We wish our eighth-grade students well in their transition to Dillon High School and hope they enjoy their high school years.

So where does 2020-2021 take us? Onward and upward! Plans for next year are already underway, and we are excited about all the exciting possibilities yet to come at Dillon Middle School.

Open House and registration will be held on August 13 for the 2020-2021 school year.  The first day of school for students will be August 17.  Until then, we wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer with your families.

If you have questions or comments, please contact us at 843-774-1212.
