   FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear DHS Family,

We are down to the last three weeks of the 2020-2021 school year, but we still have much to accomplish before this school year ends. Students, now is the time to focus on making sure that you complete all your coursework and make up any outstanding assignments. Remember our credit recovery policy guidelines. You must be passing the course that you would like to recover with at least a 50 before you can sign up for credit recovery.

Seniors, it is imperative that you have all your assignments completed in the next week to ensure that you are prepared to graduate. If you have a failing average in any of your courses, please make sure that you speak with your teachers to make arrangements to make up work or complete assignments that you have not completed. Completing your coursework to get your high school diploma is the first and most important step to ensuring that you have a successful future regardless of whether you are going to college or entering the workforce.

Parents, please make sure that your students are continuing to attend classes regularly whether they are face-to-face or virtual. Time is of the essence, and we would like for all our students to end the year successfully. However, we cannot do it without your help.

To everyone, thank you for your hard work and dedication during such a challenging school year. Although we have had our share of challenges and uncertainties, we have still proven that at Dillon High School, we can work together to accomplish great things. Our hardworking staff continues to put the needs of our students first. Most of our students have maintained their focus, but we still have much work to do. Parents, you have been dedicated to working with the staff to ensure the success of your children. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As the school year comes to an end, I would like to wish you a safe and restful summer in advance. We look forward to returning to business as usual for the 2021-2022 school year.

Sincerely,

Timothy P. Gibbs
