Substitute Teacher, Substitute Paraprofessional

Responsibilities:

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
    • Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
    • Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
    • Building positive relationships
    • Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
  • Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
  • Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students
  • For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments

Minimum requirements:

  • Must have at least a HS diploma/GED
  • Must be available at least 3 days per week
  • Completion of online substitute training
  • Completion of mandatory employment orientation for substitute teaching with Kelly Education

 

Substitute Food Service Operator

Responsibilities:

In the absence of a full-time food service worker, the Kelly Education substitute food service worker assists in providing food service preparation and services to students, along with other related kitchen duties, under the direction and supervision of the school district’s full-time professional staff.

  • Assist with prep work and cooking of nutritionally balanced meals.
  • Properly weigh and measure ingredients and portions.
  • Carry pots, pans, utensils, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator, in accordance with school district safety standards.
  • Follow all proper food safety and storage rules.
  • Operate all mechanical kitchen equipment correctly and safely.
  • Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils, and follow all established sanitation procedures.
  • Serve students in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Dress in a safe and appropriate manner as described in the Kelly Education Standards of Professional Conduct.
  • Assist with money and meal accountability.
  • Follow sign-in and sign-out procedures as determined by the school district personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

   Minimum requirements:

  • Must have at least a HS Diploma/GED
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with school district staff
  • Ability to positively relate to a younger generation of students
  • Ability to withstand frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

 

Substitute Custodian

Responsibilities:

To assist the housekeeping supervisor in providing students and staff with efficient, effective, responsive, and caring housekeeping services in order to create and maintain physical environments that are safe, comfortable, attractive, and conducive to learning and working.

  • Work at all times under direction and supervision of School District’s full time, professional staff.
  • Follow sign in and sign out procedures, as prescribed by the School District.
  • Dresses in a safe and appropriate manner as described in the KE Standards of Professional Conduct.
  • Assist in providing cleaning, maintenance and other custodial care services to the building and school grounds, under the direction and guidance of School District personnel.
  • Follow the School District’s cleaning and sanitation rules and procedures.
  • Implement proper care, use, and safety of chemicals and equipment.
  • Report any school building or grounds safety concerns, or faulty equipment to School District personnel.
  • Report all personal injury or school property or theft to Kelly supervisor and District/School personnel immediately.
  • Immediately notifies my Kelly Education representative of any proposed change in job duties or responsibilities that differ or are inconsistent with the standards contained herein. No changes may take effect until Kelly Education has formally agreed to the proposed change.
  • For your own safety as well as that of students and district staff, Kelly Education requires adherence to a ‘S.A.F.E. Touch’ policy as it relates to physical contact between you and students. This policy is located in the Kelly Education Handbook Addendum, reference Section: KELLY EDUCATION 'S.A.F.E TOUCH' POLICY.

Minimum requirements:

  • Meets state requirements for education qualifications.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively.
  • Has effective organizational, communication and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with District/School staff and students.
  • Must comply with school Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Endeavors to understand and respect the values and traditions of the diverse cultures represented in the community and in the school.
  • Such additional qualifications to the above as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable and as agreed upon by Kelly Education (KE).
